Robot rental FAQ for
Los Angeles events.

Straight answers about the RoboBar robotic bartender, the RoboCam motion-control camera, and the RoboDog — how pricing works, what your venue needs, who runs the show, and what you provide.

01 · Robotic bartender

RoboBar — robotic bartender rental

The flagship. What it pours, how fast, what your venue needs — and what you bring.

How many bottles can RoboBar pour from, and how fast?

RoboBar works with one to four glass bottles at once. A pour takes roughly 10–15 seconds per glass depending on the glassware — up to four glasses a minute at full tempo.

What glassware does it work with?

Almost anything, glass or plastic: champagne flutes, whiskey tumblers, martini glasses, and more. We program the pour around the exact glasses you’ll use on the night.

What do we need to send you before the event?

Samples of your bottles (empty is fine) and your glassware, at least 48 hours ahead. Our engineers 3D-print custom bottle grips and glass coasters and pre-program every pour, so event night runs without surprises. Spacelab also keeps its own bottle set for testing.

How does it know when to pour?

Four backlit, labeled buttons sit on the bar. A guest presses one, RoboBar pours that drink, then waits for the next press — for as long as the event runs.

Is it loud?

No. RoboBar runs with minimal sound. The small compressor that powers its pneumatic gripper is very quiet, and we can place it away from the bar entirely.

What does our venue need to provide?

A standard household outlet on a 20-amp circuit — no special power. The bar table is 33 inches wide, so it passes through a standard door, and our two technicians handle all unloading and load-in, included with every rental.

Does Spacelab supply the alcohol?

No. Spacelab does not sell or provide alcohol or any other beverages. All bottles, drinks, and glassware come from you or your catering company — we bring the robotics and the show.

Can RoboBar match our brand or event colors?

The standard unit is white with Spacelab’s own livery. For brand activations and themed events it can be wrapped in any color, logo, or decor you like — custom branding is quoted as an add-on. See the full RoboBar rental details.

02 · Motion-control camera

RoboCam — motion-control camera rental

The cinematic robot arm. How guests get their clips, and how the moves are made.

How do guests get their clips?

Clips auto-upload within seconds of capture. Guests scan a QR code right at the set and download their video instantly — share-ready before they’ve left the carpet.

Is an operator included?

Always. A Spacelab robotics engineer runs RoboCam for your entire event — guiding guests and running the moves. It’s part of every rental, never an upsell.

Can the camera moves be customized for our event?

Yes. Camera-move programs are written in advance for your venue, your moment, and your creative brief — from slow orbits to fast sweeps — and rehearsed before doors open.

Does it work indoors?

Yes — it’s built for indoor venues: ballrooms, red-carpet entrances, trade-show booths, and brand activations. It ran a guest experience at Noah House in Los Angeles. We scope space and power with you during booking — see the motion-control camera rental page.

03 · Robot dog

RoboDog — robot dog rental

The newest member of the line-up. Branding, behavior, and where it can appear.

Is an operator included?

Yes. A Spacelab operator guides RoboDog for the entire booking — through crowds and photo moments. Operation is always included.

Can it be branded or costumed?

Yes — RoboDog can be wrapped in your logo, company colors, and promotional messaging, and it can wear costumes for themed events. Branding is quoted per event.

What does it actually do at an event?

It greets guests, poses for photos and selfies, dances, and walks the venue with its operator — a reliable crowd magnet at a booth, entrance, or red carpet.

Where can it appear?

Trade-show floors, brand activations, galas, store openings, private parties — indoors or outdoors. It has worked the show floor at IMEX America 2025 in Las Vegas, appeared at an Adobe MAX product launch, and posed everywhere from LACMA to Venice Beach and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. 04 · Booking & logistics

Booking & logistics in Los Angeles

Shift pricing, install times, staffing, and service area — the honest logistics.

Why does one hour cost the same as six?

Each robot is complex, one-of-a-kind equipment that our engineers prep, test, and program before every single event — most of the work happens before a guest ever sees it.

So we book by shift, not by the hour: the standard shift is six hours, and the price is the same whether the robot performs for one hour or all six. You always get an exact custom quote for your date — request yours here.

How long do install and teardown take?

Installation takes about one hour before your event; teardown takes about two after it. Our technicians handle everything — delivery, load-in, setup, and haul-out. You never touch a cable.

Who runs the robots during the event?

A robotics engineer plus an assistant engineer operate the equipment for your entire event — always included in the rental. For RoboBar, empty-bottle swaps are handled by a waiter or hostess: yours or your caterer’s, or we can quote one for you.

What area does Spacelab serve?

Los Angeles and Greater LA. Every rental is turnkey across the service area: delivery, installation, live operation, and teardown are all included.

How far in advance should we book?

As early as you can in peak season — popular dates go first. Send your date and venue and we’ll confirm availability, usually the same day you ask.
